What is Massage?
Massage is the working of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue using various techniques, to enhance function, aid in the healing process, and promote relaxation and well being.
Medical research has shown that the benefits of massage include pain relief, reduction of anxiety and depression, the temporary reduction of blood pressure, heart rate, and state of anxiety, an improvement of flexibility and mobility and it helps clear waste from the lymphatic system. Massage may stimulate the release of endorphins and serotonin, prevent fibrosis or scar tissue, increase the flow of lymph and improve sleep.
